Ellen started riding as a small
child and has continued her passion for riding to the present.
She, along with her parents, Miller and Frances Gorrie, designed
and implemented the building of the barn and riding facilities
in 1995. The Hunter-Jumper riding program soon followed.
Her Daughters currently compete in local and national horse
shows across the region. Ellen is our customer relations
coordinator and oversees our custom events. |
A United States Equestrian Federation “ R “ licensed
Judge in Hunters, Jumpers, and Hunt Seat Equitation – Halbleib
started competing as an amateur in 1981 with Kathy Moore
at the Flintridge Riding Club in Pasadena, CA. During the
mid 8o’s he trained at Hunterdon, Inc. and brings with
him over 20 years experience of teaching methods, problem
solving skills and the search for perfection he learned from
Frank Madden, Bill Cooney, Anne |
| Kursinski, as well as the legendary
George H. Morris. While at Hunterdon, he competed in the
Amateur Owner and Green Hunter Divisions, the A/O, Preliminary,
Intermediate, Grand Prix, and World Cup Jumper Divisions.
He has conducted clinics throughout the United States and
Mexico. While coaching all levels of riders - his riding
and horse show experience includes: Montreal - Canada, Lignier,
Bern, Neauchatel, Lac Lugano, and Geneva - Switzerland, W.
Palm Beach Winter Equestrian Festival, Arizona A to Z circuit,
Classic Company Gulf Coast Winter Series, Devon Horse Show,
the National - Madison Square Garden, Pennsylvania National,
Washington DC International, Los Angeles National Hollywood
Charity, the Hampton Classic, Brownland Farms, Georgia International
Horse Park, and Chateau Elan, Atlanta. Riding “ Springlight “ he
jumped 7 ft. in the Puissance class at the Hollywood Charity
Classic in Los Angeles. Halbleib and trainer Morris sold
the horse “ Rocko 17 “ to the Japanese Equestrian
team for the 1988 Olympics. He has demonstrated in over 50
Morris clinics, appeared in over 20 television commercials
and judged at more than 100 USEF sanctioned horse shows – most
notably the USEf Olympic Sports Festivals in San
Antonio ’93 and St. Louis ‘94. Halbleib judges
IHSA and NCAA Division 1
competitions and earned his BS degree in Psychology from
Abilene Christian University in 1981. |

a life member of the USEF, United States Hunter Jumper Association,
Texas Hunter Jumper Association, Louisiana Hunter Jumper
Association, Georgia Hunter Jumper Association, and the Alabama
Hunter Jumper Association - of which he is a board member
and Chairman of the AHJA Marketing and Sponsorship program
for 2005. |

Ellen is a graduate of Auburn University
with a degree in Business Administration / Management. She
started riding |
 |
at the age of six after her mother
gave her riding lessons for her birthday. She continued riding
and showed throughout high school and college
and is now the assistant trainer and co barn manager at Blackjack
Farms. Ellen teaches beginner riders, oversees vet records,
coordinates the entries for competitions and helps to train
and show young horses at the local and national horse shows.
Her show experience includes: Brownland Farms, Chateau Elan
- Atlanta, and Georgia International Horse Park and well
as the AHJA show circuit.
